If I won the lottery I would immediately get to work designing my dream home. I love houses. I would probably make the craziest house ever because I like so many conflicting styles. Heck, I might have to just make a whole hotel so that each room was centered around a specific theme or taste. I doubt I'd actually make a mega mansion, but I would like to build a home with a room for each child to have as their own, as well as a playroom for them to play in together. I would have Sarah Richards fly out from Canada to personally see to the design of our home, and then I would try to convince her to be my new best friend, or at least keep in touch because she is so awesome. Ideally, this house would be on the beach in Alabama.
So we did not forget the fine art of work and business, we would probably create a business that Hubby and I could do together, eventually bringing in the kids to learn solid work ethic. I've always wanted to own a resort or a restaurant or cafe. I have a few ideas up my sleeve still, who knows. I would continue to homeschool, only I would also enroll the children in classes and tutors for the things that I really want them to learn that I just am not good at (Spanish, art, music, and extracurricular interests). I might even take a few lessons in things myself; you can never get too old for learning new things.
I'd like a new car. My car isn't old, but it is getting small...we have the caravan, which is shorter in length than the grand caravan. I'd like either a full sized mini van, or a long SUV, like a Suburban or Yukon. Plus the back of the van doesn't have AC, so the kids have to wait forever for the air to get to them, which is horrible in this heat.
I would buy GAP clothes for the kids. I know, I know. Really, it is just he principle of it. I buy Old Navy, but I can never afford the cute GAP clothes for them. I would love to buy them new clothes more than once a year or less. It would be so fun for me to give them the cute clothes that I see and love. I would finally fill up my side of the closet, just like hubby's. Haha. So my barely filled closet would be filled with multiple pairs of pants and shirts, I don't know what I would do with myself if I had that many clothes! However, due to the new influx of clothing, I would also hire a laundry service to wash and return my clothes to me. Just because I could.
I'd pay for a gym membership, a personal trainer, and get skinny! If I had someone forcing me to do it, I think I could be motivated and seeing the results would help even more. I'd love to feel healthy, sexy, and have more energy. I know this is something that I could do now, at least starting on it. I am working on it, but can't really afford to go to a gym, so progress is slow, unrewarding, and a lot less motivated. But I am working on it.
This might actually go along with the business idea, but I have a real desire to buy one of those whole towns that you sometimes see for sale. Historic stores and homes, located in the mountains or ghost towns in western lands. I have a thing about the exclusivity of living in a place like that, and managing the whole place as a business.
I'd go all crazy prepper. I'd build an underground shelter and stock it with like, ten years of food and water and stuff. You can never be too safe.
I would give money to my old church, and possibly some other ministries that I know and trust. I would pay off the debt of my family members. I would fund college trusts for my close family and children. I would possibly build houses for family members, if that was something they desired. My bestie would be considered part of the family that I would support, of course.
I'm sure there are many things that would come up other than these, were I to actually win the lottery, but this is all I can think of for now.
What would YOU do if you won millions of dollars.
