The first step in doing something that seems impossible is believing that it actually CAN be done. Just like the saying, “Knowing is half the battle,” half of your emotional strength comes in knowing that things will not always be this painful, and that you will recover. You have to go through this, there isn’t a way to avoid the pain, but you can deal with it in healthy ways. You must accept that your situation isn’t hopeless.
When He entered the house, the blind men came up to Him, and Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" They said to Him, "Yes, Lord." Then He touched their eyes, saying, "It shall be done to you according to your faith." And their eyes were opened. Matthew 9:28-29
The turning point of my personal darkness was the moment that I stopped struggling in standing for my marriage, and instead realized that no matter the outcome, God would take care of me. He has promised us this. He has said He would be a Father to the fatherless, He said that He is the Lover of our souls, and He has said that every good thing comes to those who love Him. He changed my heart through my brokenness, He took my doubt and gave me the strength to trust Him.
Believing that we can cope doesn’t come through our own strength, but in relying on Him, trusting in Him.
Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7
